Touch Typing Course
A recent international research study reveals that there are people who have not written anything by hand for six months. With the advance of technology, students rely extensively on their laptops for taking down notes, texting and communication. Therefore, it is important that students use the keyboard efficiently by learning the skill of touch typing.
Touch typing is a style of typing without looking at the keyboard, but through muscle memory. Practicing touch typing helps students to improve their phonics training, multi-sensory learning and muscle memory. It also enables them to gain confidence with writing and spelling. As touch typing is faster than handwriting, it improves the general ICT skills of students and prepares them in higher levels of education.
Touch typing has become an essential skill for students, particularly since the arrival of computerized standardized tests. By teaching the right typing technique, we are giving them an extra asset.
The Board of Directors, Indian Schools in Oman is keen to develop the touch typing skills of students and teachers by providing the required training through ‘Samriddhi – Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching’.
